In February 2018, Nixon, an energetic and imaginative child who loved sports and building Legos with his three brothers, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma—a formidable bone cancer. What began as intermittent leg pain soon led to a life-altering diagnosis. Despite undergoing a complex rotationplasty surgery and enduring rigorous chemotherapy, Nixon’s resilience never wavered.
