There is a reason why when I started a non-profit, I named it breaking the chain. I believe that when families can talk about hard things, and communicate, true change can happen. Unfortunately, there has been generations of abuse that has cycled through my family. It's time to start talking about it, so that it ends with this generation. Too many think that not talking about this will make it as though it didn't happen, but problems don't fix themselves without solutions.
